Otti Music

Otti – Music is the music of weaving.  There is a rythm to a good textile like music.  „Through the materials, we can weave immateriality, the textile can be music itself“ Otti Berger wrote.  This textile pulses with the colour, geometry, liveliness and sensuality of Otti Berger.  She was said to most completely express the spirit of the bauhaus in the 1930s.

The textile is adapted from the colours and patterns of Otti Berger woven for a children’s carpet.  It plays with modern architecture to bring alive the touch, warmth, colour and rythm of a room.    Otti Berger was murdered in Auschwitz.  We believe her textile legacy can survive and touch us today.
